How to Remove Acrylic Paint from Clothing

I'm sure a lot of you already have your own methods for doing this, but I came across this and thought I'd share:

 

 

 

  

  

Instructions found here.  I don't know much about fabrics, so I don't know how this would work on colorful clothing? But if anyone else has tips I'd love to know. Usually I just give it up for lost if the paint has dried on somewhat. (And if someone comments on the paint on my clothing I tell them that I'm an art teacher!)

Lace Ceramic Plates

I thought you sixth grade teachers may like this (not sure if you still do the ceramic plates or not) but it would work for any elementary ages:

 

Project found here. I'm sure sixth graders could do a much nicer job than these 5-year-olds did, but you get the idea!

Art demonstrations

Okay...not sure exactly how this will all turn out, but in the event that you wish to view any of my demonstrations, feel free...some are picture demonstrations, other are video demonstrations.

My hope is to post several of my key demonstrations, so that my students are able to use them as reinforcements to what goes on in class. Some of them could be used to present new information as well. Nothing takes the place of in-class teaching, but maybe something like this could be something we, as teachers, can produce and point students towards - in the event they missed the material on a given day.

I am open to criticism...believe me, I don't plan on winning any Oscars with the video demonstrations :)

This is a great idea for collaboration. I believe our department has a TON of valuable information that we could share with one another. Although meeting face to face is always more effective, it's not always practical or nearly as swift as posting a blog. Looking forward to sharing and receiving inspiration in this venue!

Elmo Projector

I thought that today was really productive and informative. I don't know about the rest of you, but I would love to write a grant for our department and get at least one Elmo projector per building for the art teachers.




I know it would make demonstrating and showing student exemplars fun and easy. I've never written a grant before, and I'll definitely ask the reading specialists about the one that they wrote, but if anyone could point me in the right direction or give me any advice, I'd really appreciate it!
